Overview
Responsible to the Distribution Supervisor for receiving, inspecting, verifying, controlling, storing and accurately issuing materials, supplies, and equipment to all departments within Beebe Medical Center and related Family Health Centers.
This position will require access to legend and non-legend drugs and will require ethical standards related to medication storage and security. The security and storage requirements must be maintained at all times to prevent diversion from the organization as well as ensuring product integrity.
Responsibilities
Receive supplies and equipment at the loading dock, ensuring accurate sign-off with vendors
Verify all incoming shipments by counting and matching items against packing slips and receiving documentation
Identify and report any missing, damaged, or incorrect items to the Purchasing Department in a timely manner
Enter received goods into the MMIS (Lawson) system and flag discrepancies between system records and packing documentation
Maintain a log of packages received without purchase orders for proper tracking and distribution
Deliver packages, supplies, and equipment to requesting departments or coordinate pickup with requestors
Stage and secure undeliverable items in designated areas for later delivery or pickup
Keep the receiving and loading dock areas clean, organized, and well-maintained
Collect and stage used pallets, crates, and materials for vendor or third-party pickup
Ensure timely delivery and distribution of all received goods across departments and satellite locations
Prepare, process, and ship outgoing packages via carriers such as FedEx, UPS, or freight companies
Maintain accurate shipping documentation and records; follow up to confirm carrier pickup
Stock inventory in storerooms and main supply areas; organize and replenish shelves as needed
Collaborate with vendors to coordinate delivery and installation of furniture, fixtures, and equipment; ensure proper receiving documentation is completed
Train staff on accurate processing of logistics documentation (packing lists, bills of lading, purchase orders, receiving reports) to support payment authorization
Identify, classify, and code inventory items appropriately within the system
Communicate with supervisors when assistance is needed with lifting, deliveries, receiving, or documentation workload
Support broader hospital operations by assisting with additional duties outside of standard responsibilities as needed
Qualifications
One year experience working with patient care supplies and equipment is preferred. An understanding of the use/purpose of Medical/Surgical supplies and equipment helpful; experience with storage and distribution of supplies desirable. On the job training is provided. Ability to work independently in a quick and professional manner. Ability to communicate well and expediently handle clerical control systems is required.
