Qualifications:
- Masters in Audiology or Au.D. Degree.
- Active or eligible for Virginia Audiologist License.
- Active or eligible for Virginia Hearing Aid Specialist License.
- ABAC helpful but not required.
- Meets with the patient to discuss and review types of amplification and technology options that meet his/her needs to formulate a patient care plan. Incorporates tinnitus assessment and management as needed.
- Dispenses amplification to include selection of technology along with earmolds or tips, programming, fitting, patient orientation and counseling as well as follow-up care.
- Provides live speech mapping, real ear measurements and other verification procedures.
- Manages patient phone calls or unscheduled visits for hearing aid problems.
- Coordinates ordering devices, returns, exchanges and repairs.
- Provides in office hearing aid repair or modification when possible.
- Schedules and performs hearing aid checks and cleaning.
- Makes appropriate physician referrals and coordinates care as needed.
- Provides referral sources with written reports and maintains chart notes.
- Follows HIPPA regulations and infection control procedures.
